True Family

They sat in the cool shade of the small tree. Neither one said a word as they watched the clouds drift lazily across the sky. Everything was so peaceful. Joy glanced at the old Pegasus pony seated next to her. The old pony had taken care of her since her own parents kicked her out for her fear of flying. No one else had even looked at her, but Sweet Cloud had immediately taken her in when they met. Cloud was kind a gentle; nothing like her parents.
Joy nestled in closer to Sweet Cloud and rested her head on her forelegs. Opening one eye she glanced up at the old Pegasus.
"Thank you for being my family."
Glancing down, Cloud smiled and responded, "Trust me, I'm just the start of your family. Someone like you will have no end to your family."

It took me a while to decided what to name the old gray pony, but I'm happy with the name I chose.
Note: This will never be exactly told, but Sweet Cloud never shows up in the comic. The only reference to her is when Joy tells about an old pony taking her in, and when you first meet Joy(but this second you have to watch carefully for).
